Hair Loss Management (Telehealth Consultations)

Overview

Hair loss affects a wide range of individuals and can significantly impact self-esteem and quality of life. We offer telehealth-based consultations for individuals experiencing scalp hair thinning, patterned hair loss, or concerns about excessive shedding.

These consultations are designed to explore the underlying causes of your hair loss and to develop an appropriate, personalised management plan.

What to Expect During Your Consultation

Your hair loss assessment is conducted via secure telehealth (video) for convenience and privacy, accessible anywhere in Australia.

The consultation includes: (Initial brief intake assessment + Comprehensive consultation with treatment planning)

  • Comprehensive review of your medical and lifestyle history

  • Assessment of contributing factors including stress, nutrition, hormones, and genetic predisposition

  • Review of relevant pathology results if available (or referral for testing if required)

  • Guidance on evidence-based treatment options suited to your clinical presentation

  • Discussion of expectations, timeframes, and follow-up needs

You may be asked to provide photos of your scalp prior to the consultation to support clinical evaluation.

Management Options

Following assessment, you will receive a treatment plan which may include:

  • Prescription of regulated products (if clinically indicated and appropriate, in line with TGA Special Access or Authorised Prescriber pathways)

  • Lifestyle and nutritional optimisation strategies

  • Topical or oral therapies recommended based on individual hair loss patterns and contributing factors

  • Referral for supportive therapies, where appropriate

All prescribed therapies are based on medical indications and provided in accordance with Australian therapeutic goods regulations. No guarantees of treatment outcome can be made, as responses vary between individuals.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy Referrals

For some patients, PRP may be considered as a supportive, non-pharmaceutical intervention to promote scalp health and hair density.

We collaborate with Hot Tec, an external medical aesthetics provider, for PRP treatments.
If clinically suitable, a referral can be arranged as part of a holistic care plan.

PRP is not suitable for all forms of hair loss and is not a replacement for medical treatment where indicated.

Follow-Up

  • Follow-up is typically recommended every 3–6 months depending on treatment modality

  • Ongoing reviews allow for monitoring of effectiveness and safety

  • Repeat consultations are required to continue prescribing any regulated products

  • Where applicable, further pathology or treatment adjustments may be discussed
